Lots has happened since my last update. 

The job ended up laying off 5 part time people. It was hard for everyone, especially those of us who were told we were 'exempt' from being laid off. While I can understand why we were (key personnel needs to be kept) it doesn't take away the feeling of guilt when you're kept and others are let go.  Some people were angry while others were hurt and confused. Me - I had a mix of everything. It was my first layoff in any job and I had no idea what to expect. It's a sad time for any company, and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

My sister has moved on and I miss them. I miss my niece's smile and her hug as an excuse to use the mirror in my bedroom to look at herself. I miss my nephew's hugs. I miss gabbing with my sister about nothing and everything at the same time. The long and short of it is I miss my family. And it's going to be a very long time until I get to see them again. It breaks my heart.
